For the second year running, Carter Community School students and staff are celebrating a significant increase in GCSE results.
46% of students gained five or more A* to C grades including English and maths – a nine percentage point increase on last year’s 37% and the school’s best ever results as an academy.
Sam Davidson, Principal of Carter Community School, said:
“For the second year running, we have made significant progress at GCSE, which is evidence of the initiatives we have put in place and focus that now runs throughout the school. We have been relentless over the past few years in setting high standards for our students and bringing our motto ‘Expect the Best’ to life in the classroom and beyond.
“The impact of this is not only coming through in our results but in our popularity as a school and we are already receiving considerable interest from parents at primary schools to join us next September. I congratulate all our students who are celebrating today and thank our staff who have been instrumental in driving up progress and ensuring each student has the support and inspiration to achieve the best they can.”
