Pupils discovered the power of paint when they took part in the Arts University Bournemouth’s Spring Arts School programme.
The programme is aimed at school children aged 13-16, with over 90 pupils from across Dorset attending the three day event, including 11 gifted and talented students from Carter.
During their ‘amazing’ time at the university, the 11 amateur artists were given a first hand look at life in higher education, as well as working with industry professionals across a number of specialisms including costume design, special effects make-up, fine art, commercial photography, illustration and model making.
The students’ hard work culminated in a final performance where they were given the opportunity to showcase their newly learnt skills.
Commented Carter Community School’s Principal Sam Davidson:
“We would like to give a big ‘thank you’ to the Arts University Bournemouth for actually running this fantastic and worthwhile programme. Our students had an amazing time and are now keen to keep up the momentum, taking part in a variety of arts projects back at school.”
