Students and staff at Bournemouth Collegiate School are celebrating their best GCSE results in four years.
Just under 90% of pupils gained an A*-C grade in their subjects with over a quarter of grades at A*-A. This success follows the school’s excellent set of A Level results last week, which were its highest ever.
There were also a large number of notable individual successes across the board – of particular note were Freddy Bridgeman and Daniella Poll, who both gained 5A*s, 3 As and a B. The two students had lead parts in a number of the school productions, most recently ‘Anything Goes’ which was performed at the Pavilion Theatre earlier in the year.
Russell Slatford, Headmaster of Bournemouth Collegiate School said;
“This year group has been a credit to the school. They have all worked really hard and whether they have gained A*s or Bs, I know they have committed themselves fully to doing their best, and consequently we are extremely proud of every one of them.
“This is a year group who have taken the lead roles in the numerous drama productions this year, they were also ISFA football champions, national winners in the swimming pool, county champions in many other sports and have highly accomplished musicians in their midst.
“I could not be more pleased with their all-round contribution to BCS, they are exceptional ambassadors and will, I’m certain, lead the school with maturity and dedication as Sixth Formers over the next two years. Well done!”
