A group of students from Manchester Academy were on song when they performed as part of the world’s largest school choir last week.
Held at Manchester Arena, the ‘Young Voices’ event saw school children from across the country take part in a series of concerts, with the academy fielding its finest singers from Years 7 to 10 to perform on Thursday 2nd February.
The ‘Young Voices’ initiative combines the power of singing together as one, with accompaniment from a wide range of musicians and artists, to create an amazing performance. Every year, schools across the country practice their music in class with their teachers, rehearsing for the massive concerts.
At the academy, students prepared by learning 14 pop medley songs, along with dance routines, proudly displaying a self-designed school banner when they took part.
Manchester Academy Principal Andy Griffin commented:
“To perform at Manchester Academy was an incredible experience for our students and one that they will never forget. They enjoyed it so much, they are now helping the academy to form its own choir!"
