Greenacre School is celebrating the best GCSE results for 5 years with 97% of pupils gaining more than 5 GCSEs at A*-C grades (up from 90.5% last year) 44% of grades at A*-A, 73% at A*-B and 95% of grades at A*-C.
Greenacre pupils performed particularly well in Spanish, where 85% of grades were at A* or A and in Art where 100% of grades in Fine Art and Textiles were at A*-B and almost 80% of Photography students were awarded A*- A grades. 95% of pupils taking Geography gained A*-B grades and Science and Maths are also strong subjects – 100% of grades achieved in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths were at A*- C.
Three girls gained straight A*/A grades: Sarah Moffatt gained 8 A*s and 2 As and Millie Matthews achieved 4A*s and 6As, while Zoe Boxall gained 9 A*s and 1 A grade, meriting a double celebration for the family as Zoe’s sister, Head Girl Karla, collected fantastic A-level results last week to confirm a place at Cambridge University. A further 12 girls achieved all A*-B grades including Grace Ryan with 7A*s and 3 Bs.
Lindsay Redding, Headmistress said “As a school we are thrilled to have achieved our best GCSE results for 5 years and I am immensely proud of each and every one of the girls who received results today. We encourage, challenge and develop our pupils to be the very best they can be and achieve beyond their expectations – and the happy faces of our girls this morning is proof of our success.”
