Students and staff at Stockport Academy are celebrating today, after figures show the school has achieved its best ever GCSE results.
On first sitting, 57% of students gained five or more GCSEs at grades A* to C (including English and maths) – a significant increase on last year, once again making it one of the most improved schools in the area.
Frank McCarron, Principal of Stockport Academy, said:
“Everyone at the academy is absolutely delighted with these results - our best yet and further evidence of the sustained improvement which the school continues to make. Students and staff have worked incredibly hard all year to maintain this momentum, so today’s results are a fitting reward. Congratulations to all of our students who are celebrating today.”
