Prep Pupils Make Face Masks for Healthcare Workers.

Students, staff and parents are celebrating after winning Hull Daily Mail’s Golden Apple Community Award.  The school was announced winner of the award at a glittering awards ceremony held at KCOM Stadium today and hosted by BBC Look North weather presenter Keeley Donovan.

A team of 16 Hull Collegiate School (HCS) students have just returned from a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Uganda.  The trip is taken every two years as part of the school’s ongoing partnership with people and schools in the Kanungu district in the south west of the country.

Poppy started sailing when she was 10 at a local sailing club near Snaith.

She started serious competing at 12 years of age when she qualified to join the Royal Yachting Association Zone Squads in her Topper dinghy. This is the Olympic sailing pathway that Team GB use to train up future Olympic sailors. Only 15-18 children gain a place per zone (North of England, Midlands, South East and South West England, Scotland and Wales). 

Two United Learning schools have been shortlisted for the prestigious TES Schools Awards, which take place on Friday 22 June. The Totteridge Academy and Hull Collegiate School have been nominated for ‘Maths Team of the Year’ and the ‘International Award’ respectively.

Representatives from Hull Collegiate School attended a special event at the Houses of Parliament to celebrate being shortlisted for a TES Award.

This year, the staff of Hull Collegiate School will be coming together to take part in the Hull 10K and Hull Half on Sunday 10^th June.  This is the third year the staff have put a team together after taking part in their first events in 2015.

On Friday 4^th May, Hull Collegiate School’s eagerly awaited Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Centre officially opened its doors to pupils, parents and teachers.

An East Yorkshire school has been shortlisted for a national award.

There was great excitement at Hull Collegiate School last week as the school learnt it had been shortlisted for the International Award at the TES School Awards.  The national awards recognise the most outstanding individuals and institutions that the state and independent sector has to offer, with a hugely competitive range of applications each year.

This half-term, over 120 primary pupils from 16 United Learning schools got the chance to express their creativity through storytelling as part of StorySLAM.

Last week, at three events around the country, over 80 pupils from United Learning’s primary academies and prep schools gathered to learn about becoming leaders in their own communities.

Over 100 pupils from Hull Collegiate School celebrated ‘The Roots of Rhythm’ last week with two full days of music and arts activities – from a mass samba band to local artist workshops.

This week, primary pupils from 15 schools across United Learning came together to celebrate their social action initiatives at a special graduation ceremony held at Barclays HQ in Canary Wharf, London.

On 7th March 2014, over 400 United Learning excited pupils attended the very first We Day UK at Wembley Arena. They were part of a crowd of 12,000 pupils from across the UK, from over 400 schools. The aim of the event, which has been running in Canada and the US since 2007, is to inspire and empower pupils to make positive social change.
