Sixth Form students at Walthamstow Academy are celebrating their hard work today after securing places at some of the UK’s top universities. 

This month pupils across three East London primaries have been testing out their baking skills as part of a fun Bake Off inspired challenge.

The academy, which is part of United Learning, opened as a brand new school in 2015, and now caters for pupils in Reception and Years 1-3.

United Learning has just announced the winners of its very own Oscars.  The United Learning Film Awards (ULFAs) challenged pupils in both the Group’s primary and secondary schools to make short films as part of the IDeas Festival – a national event for all of the Group’s schools to explore their local, regional and national identities.

A Banstead secondary school will be taken over by the same group which saved Dunottar School in Reigate from closure.

The headteacher has been selected for a brand new primary school.

An artist’s impression of a new primary school has been released, ahead of its opening in September.

United Learning has appointed Stephanie Thomas as the Founding Principal of Walthamstow Primary Academy from February 2015.
