Wilberforce Primary pupils have been aiming high after an inspiring visit from the world’s Tallest Professional Basketball Player and Britain’s Tallest Man.  Paul Sturgess ran a whole-school assembly on 7 November and spoke to the children about his incredible career.

Wilberforce primary pupils get moving at Houses of Parliament

Before half-term, pupils at Wilberforce Primary took part in a special event at the Houses of Parliament to celebrate their involvement in the Joy of moving programme.

The Kinder+Sport Joy of moving programme is an international project led by The Ferrero Group that promotes active lifestyles among young children. In the UK, the programme is delivered in partnership with the English Football League Trust and its community club organisations, and teaches primary school children about the importance of nutrition and exercise.

On Thursday 7 June, pupils at Wilberforce Primary tried their hand at being forensic scientists for the day.  Working in a mobile laboratory with PhD students from University College London (UCL), the pupils used a variety of scientific techniques to determine whether a painting was an original or forgery.

No more Plastic! Wilberforce Primary launches ocean-saving environmental project

Yesterday Wilberforce Primary in Queen’s Park launched a new project which seeks to change the way in which pupils dispose of plastic and all rubbish.  The ‘A Future Without Rubbish’ project, which is being run in partnership with social enterprise, Clear Public Space, aims to educate children about the damage plastic is doing to our oceans and to encourage them to change their behaviour about waste.
