Considerable rises across all key measures | 34% of entries graded A* or A
Pupils at Hampshire Collegiate School are celebrating today after achieving the Romsey school’s best ever A Level results.
This summer, an impressive 34% of A Level entries were awarded grades A* or A – a rise of 10 percentage points on last year. Similarly, the proportion of A Levels receiving A* to C grades climbed a gratifying 15 percentage points to 87%.
Also notable were the numbers of A* grades achieved by Hampshire Collegiate School pupils, with 17% of all entries gaining the best possible grade.
Emma-Kate Henry, Principal of Hampshire Collegiate School, said:
'Our pupils are celebrating some excellent individual results today which are part of the best overall results the school has had for many years. As a result of their success, our pupils will be going on to study for degrees in subjects including medicine, English, philosophy & politics, and geography at the universities of their choice, including Cambridge, York, Leeds and Southampton.'
Amidst the school’s success as a whole, some notable individual achievements stood out, including:
- Megha Bhandari’s 4 A* grades which secured a place at Cambridge University to study medicine
- Emily Bradshaw and Jessica Evans, who were each awarded 2A*s and an A
- Lucas Cross, who achieved 2 A*s and a B
- Naomi James’ 4 A grades
Highlighting the school’s evident creative strengths, all A Level drama students achieved A*s and As, whilst 67% of art entries were also awarded the top two grades. In addition, half (50%) of chemistry students achieved As and A*s.
