After an open competition which attracted a very strong field of candidates, United Learning has appointed Mr Mark Wallace as Head of Lincoln Minster School.
Mr Wallace, who will take up his post in September, joins Lincoln Minster from Kingston Grammar School where he is currently Principal Deputy Head.
Having studied Mathematics with Computer Science at Queens University Belfast, Mr Wallace began his teaching career at Cambridge House Boys Grammar School before joining Caterham School, where he taught mathematics and held numerous responsibilities, including Head of Sixth Form and Head of Boys' Boarding, from 1995 to 2009, before moving to Kingston Grammar. While at Caterham, Mr Wallace also completed an MBA through the Open University.
Mr Wallace is a keen hockey player and has played the game at Provincial and National level. He enjoys coaching hockey and cricket as well as playing golf, TT racing and gardening. He is married with three children.
Announcing his appointment, Jon Coles, Group Chief Executive of United Learning, said:
“Mr Wallace greatly impressed everyone who was involved in the appointment process as someone who will be an outstanding head for the school, just right for the next stage in its development. He comes to us with a very strong track record.”
