Students at John Smeaton Academy are celebrating a strong set of A Level results today, with improvement on key headline measures.
For the academy’s final year cohort, the percentage of entries awarded A*-B was 40%; a significant improvement on last year’s results. Entries achieving A*-C also increased from 62% in 2016 to 73%.
Jason Kenneally, Interim Head of School at John Smeaton Academy, said:
“I am very pleased for all our students celebrating their results today, which show marked improvement on last year. I know how hard students have worked to achieve these outcomes so it is gratifying that so many of them are going onto the university courses and careers of their choice as a result.
“This year’s improvements are also due to the dedication and ongoing support of our staff team, who strive to ensure each student is able to fulfil their potential and achieve as highly as possible. Well done to everyone today; we wish our Year 13s all the very best of luck for the future.”
