Student gains place at Oxford University
Students at Lambeth Academy are celebrating after achieving the academy’s best ever A Level results. 43% of A Level and equivalents were awarded A*-A, with 66% achieving A*-B. These are both significant increases on performances in previous years.
There was further cause for celebration as Ben Mesure secured a place at Oxford University to read Geography. This is the first time a Lambeth Academy student has gained a place at Oxbridge.
There were some other excellent individual results including:
- Charlie Thomas who achieved an A* and two As which have secured him a place at The University of East Anglia
- Jack Malone who achieved two As and a B and is moving on to The University of Birmingham
- Marib Shaikh who achieved an A* and two Bs and will now head to Queen Mary University of London
In addition, an impressive 16 students achieved triple distinctions in their BTEC Diplomas.
Jan Shadick, Principal of Lambeth Academy, said:
"We are very proud of each of our Sixth Formers who are celebrating their results today. After working so hard it is wonderful to see them realise their ambitions and accept places at excellent universities. We are all delighted to see our Sixth Formers graduate from the academy with a confident and successful future ahead of them.
"We are a school that thrives on ambition and the enjoyment of learning from the oldest to the youngest and I know that students throughout the academy will be inspired and encouraged by what this year’s Sixth Form has achieved."
