Northampton Academy Celebrates A Level Results

Alladin’s wishes come true.

Northampton Academy students are celebrating their A Level results today.  A fifth of A Level entries were graded A* or A and 46% of entries achieved B or above which represents a 17 percentage point jump on last year.

Overall, almost a quarter (24%) of students achieved entirely A*-B grades, most of whom are going on to study at Russell Group universities.

Four students received straight A*s and As at A Level including Matthew Alladin. Matthew will become the academy’s first ever student to study at Oxford University, having been accepted to read History at The Queen’s College.

Anne Hill, Principal of Northampton Academy, said:

"This has been a very successful year for our Sixth Formers. I would like to congratulate each of them on their excellent A Level results and feel very proud that some of the top universities in the country will be receiving Northampton Academy students this autumn.

"Following our students’ acceptances to Cambridge University over the last few years, it seems we have cracked Oxford too. Matthew’s achievement is a reflection of our thriving Sixth Form and I know students throughout the academy are looking forward to emulating and continuing its success."

Andy Buck, Managing Director of Academies at United Learning, added:

"This is a very pleasing set of A Level results. They are a testament to the hard work of both students and staff at the academy and it is exciting to see Sixth Formers secure the grades they need to attend the universities of their choice. I wish them all the best for the future."
