The Regis School Sixth Formers celebrate A Level results

Sixth Form students and teachers at The Regis School are celebrating a significant increase in headline figures this year.

The percentage of A*-A, A*-B, A*-C and A*-E grades all improved from 2013; 34% of all entries were graded at A* or A grade, an increase of 4% from last year, whilst over 70% of all grades were C or higher. The average performance across all subjects also increased from 2013 and the A*-B percentage was higher in a range of subjects including all sciences, maths, history and English Literature. BTEC results were outstanding, with several students achieving Distinction* in Sport, Health and Social Care and Performing Arts.

This year also saw our highest number of University applications. Over 60% of students have achieved places prestigious universities across the country including Bath, Surrey, Exeter, Warwick, Kent, London and Sussex. Others students are either taking up employment or continuing their education at College.

The Regis School is particularly proud of some outstanding individual results from students - Abbie Abela, Ayesha Begum, Georgina Brennan, Kristi Challen, Adam Coles, Jess Hall, Hannah Penfold, Natalie Pullen, Hannah Kitt all of whom achieved at least three A* A or B grades.

Assistant Principal and Head of Sixth Form, Adam Osborne, said:

'We are delighted with our students’ results, which demonstrate that the sixth form at The Regis School is going from strength to strength. It is particularly pleasing to see another increase in university applications with our students now attending some of the best institutions in the country to study varied and challenging courses. I would like to thank the staff for their hard-work and the students for their commitment to their studies.'

Principal Mike Garlick acknowledged the success of the students and also thanked staff for their tireless efforts to improve students’ results:

'I am very proud of the achievements of our 6th form students, a true testament to their hard work and dedication over the last two years supported by quality teaching, care and guidance by committed staff at The Regis School. I wish all students the very best for their futures.
