Sixth Form students at The Regis School are today celebrating ‘best ever’ A Level and Level 3 Vocational results which show significant increases on previous years.
Overall, half of all grades achieved top A*-A grades, 65% were awarded the top A*-B grades and 82% awarded A*-C.
At A Level, 48% of grades were awarded A*-B, a rise of 14% from 2016 and double the percentage from 2015. At A*-C, there was also a significant rise to 71%, a rise of 13% from 2016.
A Level grades were particularly impressive in Further Maths, History, English Literature, Art & Design and Textiles
Vocational performance likewise saw continued strong performance with 83% of all grades D*-D and a 100% pass rate overall.
The school’s Sports Academy continued to produce outstanding results with 45 Distinction Stars and 9 Distinctions.
Amongst those celebrating A Level results are:
- Connor Gormley achieving 3 A* grades and intends to study English at Exeter University;
- Emily Jays who achieved 2 Bs, a D and a D* in PE and intends to study History at Manchester University
- Esme Picton achieving A*, A, B and intends to study English at the University of Leeds;
- Julie Malinowska achieving an A, 2 Bs and a C and intends to study Law at the University of Warwick;
- Bailey Patten achieving A*, A, C and intends to study Product Design at Brighton University;
- Alex Ralf who achieved triple D* in PE and D* in Drama and intends to study Sport at Southampton University;
- Ross Girling who achieved triple D* in PE and intends to study Sport at Chichester University.
