Barnsley Academy turned to environmental issues as inspiration for its entry into this year’s Rock Challenge competition. ‘Rock Challenge’ uses the performing arts to help promote healthy life choices, with this year’s regional final taking place at Production Park, Wakefield on Saturday 9th March.

Barnsley Academy students have teamed up with Elsecar Heritage Railway (EHR) and the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue to take part in a life-saving role-play.
The event took place at EHR’s Wath Road site on Thursday 28thFebruary, with the academy’s Year 9 and 10 drama students helping to recreate a major incident involving the emergency services.
