Students and staff at Richard Rose Central Academy are celebrating the academy’s best ever GCSE results today.
45% of students achieved five or more A* to C grades including English and maths compared to 34% last year.
Congratulating the students and staff on their results, Stephen Gilby, Associate Principal of Richard Rose Central Academy, said:
“These are a strong set of results which demonstrate the huge strides forward being made by the academy. They show that the initiatives we have put in place to raise standards are the right ones and that the academy is firmly established on the right path to drive improvement further.
“I congratulate all the students on their success and look forward to welcoming many of them to our Sixth Form, which, as last week’s results showed, is going from strength to strength.”
Derek Davies, Executive Principal of the Richard Rose Academies, said:
“These results demonstrate the level of progress that is underway at both Richard Rose Academies. Along with our strong A Level results last week, these results show the difference in these two schools since United Learning started working with them and lay the foundations on which our future success will come. I congratulate all the students on their achievements and thank staff at both academies for their continued hard work and dedication to the academies.”
These results build on last week’s A Level success which saw Richard Rose Sixth Form College celebrate its first student secure a place at Oxford University. Among some excellent student successes, 72% of A Level entries were awarded A*-C grades.
