Students and staff at Richard Rose Morton Academy are celebrating their best ever results today. 51% of students achieved five or more A* to C grades including English and maths – up from 37% last year. The academy has also seen a significant increase in the number of A* and A grades achieved.
Congratulating the students on their results, Des Bird, Principal of Richard Rose Morton Academy, said:
“Everyone at Morton is absolutely thrilled with these results which signify a breakthrough year for the academy. For our results to jump nearly 15 percentage points in one year is testament to the commitment of our students and staff. They have worked exceptionally hard over the past year and these results demonstrate that considerable progress is being made in all subjects. I congratulate them all on their achievements.”
Derek Davies, Executive Principal of the Richard Rose Academies, said:
“These results demonstrate the level of progress that is underway at both Richard Rose Academies. Along with our strong A Level results last week, these results show the difference in these two schools since United Learning started working with them and lay the foundations on which our future success will come. I congratulate all the students on their achievements and thank staff at both academies for their continued hard work and dedication to the academies.”
These results build on last week’s A Level success, which saw Richard Rose Sixth Form College celebrate its first student secure a place at Oxford University. Among some excellent student successes, 72% of A Level entries were awarded A*-C grades.
