Students and staff at Accrington Academy are celebrating their GCSE results today.
Over half (54%) of students achieved five or more 9-4/A*-C grades including English and maths, under this year’s new GCSE grading structure.
Alongside an overall improvement in grades, notable individual successes came from:
- Bailey Thompson-Western who achieved four 9s in the three sciences and maths
- Rhys Mott who achieved two 9s, three 8s and three 7s
- Cole Baron who achieved five 8s and three 7s
Andy O’Brien, Executive Principal of Accrington Academy, said:
“We are very pleased that once again our students have achieved the results they so thoroughly deserve. These results show improvements across the board demonstrating the dedication and hard work of staff to make sure our students have the very best chances of becoming successful.”
Nicola Palmer, Head of School, added:
“I am delighted that once again our students have achieved the results that they have worked so hard to achieve. I look forward to welcoming them to our Sixth Form as they take their next steps with us.”
