United Learning’s GCSE results for its group of sponsored academies rose this summer by 1.5% points despite the national fall across state funded schools of 2.9% points.
At 53.2%, the Group’s performance is also 3.6% points above the national average for sponsored academies.
Commenting on the results Jon Coles, Chief Executive said:
“We are very pleased that our results have bucked the national decline and have continued to increase. That we are likewise outperforming the sponsored academies’ average is encouraging and testament to the work of our staff and students across the country. Our academies are predominantly situated in areas of high deprivation with well above average numbers of students in receipt of the pupil premium. We will continue to build on these figures over the next year and look to reach and exceed the national average”.
