United Learning Film Festival

United Learning has just announced the winners of its very own Oscars.  The United Learning Film Awards (ULFAs) challenged pupils in both the Group’s primary and secondary schools to make short films as part of the IDeas Festival – a national event for all of the Group’s schools to explore their local, regional and national identities.

Over 20 films were entered for the competition all of which drew on the theme of identity.  The competition entries focused on a wide range of topics linked to identity and culture such as the history of the school’s local area, family heritage and the diverse backgrounds of students.

Great to be involved and loved watching the films. It’s fantastic to see how engaged and excited the students are and some fab films, really impressed.

Emma Taylor @ XMA

Our video was highly focused on friendship. We tried really hard as a team. We cooperated where hard decisions had to be made.

We were ecstatic when we found out we won!"

Cravenwood

We are honoured to have won this award, which really recognises the effort and time our students put into making it. It’s the first time this particular group have tried something like this and it’s quite possible we’ve unearthed some potential broadcasting stars of the future as a result!
