At North Oxfordshire Academy, students and staff are celebrating after achieving the academy’s best ever GCSE results.
There has been a considerable increase in the number of students achieving five or more A* to C grades including English and maths with 59% of students achieving these grades compared to 49% last year. In total, 93% of students achieved five or more GCSEs at grades A* to C – up from 83% last year.
Sara Billins, Principal of North Oxfordshire Academy, said:
“We are thrilled with these results which are a significant improvement on last year’s. Since I arrived here as Principal of North Oxfordshire Academy in October, I have been so impressed by the spirit and determination that students and staff show towards ensuring the academy succeeds.
“Every year the academy’s results have increased and this demonstrates the rigour and ambition that we have as a school.
“I congratulate all the students on their achievements today and I am delighted that so many have decided to stay on for the academy’s Sixth Form which continues to go from strength to strength.”
