There have been some brilliant stories of success at Ernest Bevin Academy this year as students collect their GCSE and vocational results.
These include one inspirational young person – Olek R – who joined the school from Ukraine just last year. Despite only having completed Year 10, Olek achieved top grades in science and mathematics and has already secured a place at college to study these subjects at A Level – a whole year early.
Among the other students celebrating their own standouts were two students – Mohammed S and Ahmed M – who both achieved an impressive six of the top grade 9s.
These individual performances reflect a strong showing across the school’s Year 11 cohort, with maths, English, the sciences and computer science all seeing some excellent outcomes for students.
These GCSE outcomes also follow a successful week for the school’s Sixth Form, in which students’ A Level and BTEC qualifications enabled many of them to secure places at the universities of their choice.
Tracy Dohel, Principal of Ernest Bevin Academy, said:
“We are thrilled to be celebrating students’ achievements today. Their hard work, resilience and determination have delivered some excellent outcomes and we couldn’t be prouder of the effort each student put in.
“There have also been some particularly noteworthy stories of individual performance and success – including Olek whose achievement is testament to his incredible talent and perseverance, having studied with us in the UK for such a short time.
“For all our Year 11s, what is most gratifying is that these results ensure our students are well-prepared and fully equipped to take their next steps, whether that be further education, training, or employment. We congratulate all our students and look forward to seeing them thrive in the next chapter of their educational journey.”
