Today pupils and staff at Abbey Hey Primary Academy enjoyed their first day as an academy.
The school officially joined the Group on December 1st, and will be able to share best practice with schools across the country, with staff benefiting from the Group’s wide range of high-quality professional development opportunities.
Trevor Matthews, the school’s Head Teacher, said:
‘We are very pleased to have become an academy and to have joined United Learning. Today follows a thorough consultation with staff and parents who, together with the governors, strongly welcome our move to academy status.
‘Becoming an academy signals a new chapter in the journey of Abbey Hey and we are incredibly excited about the opportunities being a United Learning academy presents. We are looking forward to meeting pupils and staff from across the Group.’
