This year across the Sixth Form, 46% of A Level entries were graded A* to B, with over a fifth of entries awarded the top A* and A grades.

Those celebrating include:

• Freddie Philipps who achieved one A*, 3 As and an EPQ in Mathematics securing a place to read Mathematics with Study Abroad at the University of Bristol;
• Freddie Brown who achieved three As as well as an EPQ in Physics securing a place to read Physics at the University of Bristol;
• Uday Patel who achieved two A*s, one A and an EPQ securing a place to read Astronautics at the University of Southampton;
• Zach Spike who achieved AAB and an EPQ securing a place at read Economics and Business Management at the University of Southampton;
• Katie Wall who achieved one A* and two As and an EPQ in English and History securing a place to read English and History at the University of Southampton;
• Shea Eastoe who achieved three As and will now embark on a gap year.

Uday Patel said:

"The Sixth Form at Huish was focused very much on me as an individual and the teachers always gave me so much 1:1 support to help me achieve these results. I feel very proud and I am looking forward to studying Aeronautics and Astronautics at Southampton University.”

Zach Spike said:

“I am going to Southampton to study Economics and Business Management and I am so excited for September! I have loved every bit of my time at Huish. The support from teachers has been amazing both inside and outside the classroom. I couldn’t have achieved these grades without the teachers there to support me.”

Katie Wall said:

“I am excited to go on and study English and History at Southampton. I have really enjoyed my time at Huish Sixth Form. I appreciate having had such knowledgeable teachers and the small class sizes mean you get excellent support.”

Freddie Brown said:

“I would like to thank my teachers at Huish for their belief in me and for pushing me to achieve my best. I am really excited to go on and study Physics at Bristol University.”

Freddie Phillips said:

"The quality of teaching at Huish Sixth Form has been excellent and all my teachers have really helped me. I am feeling excited to study Mathematics at university and to further my languages knowledge by doing a year studying abroad.”

 These A Level results follow the academy’s encouraging Ofsted inspection last term.  Inspectors were very complimentary about the improvements underway at the academy and today’s results are a reflection of the strong progress that is being made.

“We are very pleased with today’s results which are testament to the hard work and dedication of our students as well as the exceptional support, guidance and encouragement of our staff.  Students have achieved a strong set of results and it is fantastic to see them secure the grades they need to embark on the next stage of the education.  We have a number of students preparing to take up places on highly respected university courses and I have no doubt that their achievements will inspire our younger students to aim high.
