Bacon's College students celebrate GCSEs

Catgeories : Group news GCSE results

Today’s celebrations follow an impressive set of Oxbridge and Russell Group destinations for Sixth Formers last week

Many of these students are now preparing to return to the school’s Sixth Form for their A Level and equivalent studies

As GCSE qualifications are awarded across the country, students and staff at Bacon’s College are once again celebrating a strong set of exam results.

With this year’s exams the first to return to pre-pandemic arrangements, the school’s Year 11s have secured some excellent individual performances. This includes:

  • Li Anh, who achieved four grade 9s and five grade 8s;
  • Vinh, who achieved four grade 9s, two grade 8s, two grade 7s and a Distinction*;
  • Derick, who achieved four grade 9s, two grade 8s, two grade 7s and a grade 6;
  • Riham, who achieved three grade 9s, five grade 8s and two grade 7s;
  • Brooke, who achieved three grade 9s, two grade 8s and four grade 7s;
  • Amira, who achieved three grade 9s, two grade 8s, three grade 7s and three grade 6s;
  • Nahim, who achieved three grade 9s, two grade 8s, two grade 7s, a grade 6 and a Distinction*.

Almost all of these students will now be returning to the school’s Sixth Form for their A Level studies this September. The Sixth Form enjoyed its own success last week, with two impressive Sixth Formers securing their places at the University of Oxford, and many others achieving the grades needed to win spots at prestigious Russell Group universities. 30% of all A level entries at the school were awarded the top grades of A* or A.

Commenting on students’ achievements, James Wilson, Principal at Bacon’s College, said:

“It is wonderful to see students celebrating their GCSE results after so many years’ hard work with us. This year group has shown particular resilience over the past few years, to which their achievements today are testament. We look forward to welcoming the majority of these Year 11s back this autumn as they build on these results at A Level.

“As always, I would also like to thank staff and parents for the vital role they play in supporting students’ strong progress throughout their GCSE years. Their determination makes all the difference, and I know they share my pride in what students have accomplished today.”
