Outgoing Head Boy Ben S will be swapping his student leadership role for a place at Pembroke College, Cambridge to read Engineering. Over his time at the Sixth Form, as well as striving to achieve his triple A* grades in Maths, Further Maths and Physics, he has played an essential part in leading the school’s charitable contributions – balancing the responsibilities of both with aplomb.
On confirming his place at Cambridge, Ben said:
“It is pretty cool, but also just so amazing to see how well everyone did, and just so incredibly proud of all my friends. Cambridge is such an amazing and aspirational place, but I am just so relieved that all the work has paid off. I absolutely cannot wait to continue all my studies at the best place in the world!”
Meanwhile, Danyil K was overjoyed to secure his place at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama to continue his studies. A talented violinist, Danyil joined Midhurst Rother College in 2022 when his family left Ukraine as a result of the conflict. Despite starting at the school with limited English, his determination and enthusiasm towards learning meant he quickly found a place within the Midhurst Rother College community, working incredibly hard both in his A Level studies and his applications to music conservatoires.
Delighted to be joining the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Danyil said:
“The MRC Sixth Form team have been so supportive, I want to say a huge thank you to Mr Puttock for all the help with the UCAS process and Mrs Tidbury for motivating me throughout. I am really looking forward to my next steps.”
Among the other Sixth Formers celebrating as they secured their destinations of choice were a wide range of students electing to go onto university, including many with offers to Russell Group institutions. From Millie J who will be joining the University of Warwick, to Rory F who will be taking up a place to study Aerospace Engineering at the University of Sheffield, the breadth of students’ interests was clear to see during the day’s celebration.
Leo S, who will be pursuing a degree in Zoology at Bangor University in Wales, was delighted to receive A*s in the two science A Levels he needed. Another top performer, Rudy T, secured triple As in English Literature, History and Law and will be heading to the University of York to study History and Philosophy.
Rudy said of his Sixth Form experience at Midhurst Rother College:
“Great Sixth Form, great teachers, great time. Really looking forward to life in York.”

To see such excitement, satisfaction and pride on our Sixth Formers’ faces is brilliant and we are pleased for each and every one of our young people seeing their hard work and commitment pay off.
“Some of these Sixth Formers have been with us since the start of Year 7 so it is even more gratifying to watch them take their next steps, having made brilliant contributions to our school community. More than that, we know that they have all developed into fantastic young adults and grown in confidence, leadership and character – something that will serve them well as they move forward.”
