Catgeories : GCSE results Group news

Students at Irlam and Cadishead Academy in Salford are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results.

Many of the school’s students achieved the top grades, including:
  • Sophie Flemming, who achieved four grade 9s, four grade 8s and one grade 7;
  • Luke Brodie, who achieved one grade 9, two grade 8s, and four grade 7s;
  • Aaron Scholes, who achieved one grade 9, three grade 8s, two grade 7s and one grade 6;
  • Alex Stanway, who achieved six grade 8s, one grade 7 and one grade five;
  • Ella Stephan, who achieved one grade 8 and seven grade 7s.
Reflecting on his results, Luke said:
“I feel ecstatic about my results, I couldn’t be happier. I got a 9 in English Literature which I am so happy about. I can’t believe I actually got it.”

Alex added:
“I’m not going to lie I am buzzing with my results. I feel like I worked really hard for them and I have got what I deserved.”

Parents were also pleased. One commented:
“Irlam and Cadishead Academy has been an amazing school for my son who has achieved outstanding GCSE results. The teaching staff are wonderful, and it is clear they care about the individual child as well as academic achievements/results. Well done ICA!”

The school’s GCSE success comes after its ‘Good’ Ofsted rating earlier this year. The inspectors’ report was full of praise for the school and its students, highlighting in particular the ambitious curriculum which prepares students well for their next steps.

Congratulating the students on their results, Chris Leader, Principal at Irlam and Cadishead Academy, said:
I am very pleased for all our students who are celebrating today and would like to congratulate them on their achievements. These results come off the back of our very strong Ofsted report in the Spring. Over the course of their time at Irlam, students have enjoyed not only their education but have also seized the opportunity to take part in numerous enrichment activities which have promoted their character, sense of responsibility and wider personal development.
“We would like to wish them all well for their futures and look forward to keeping in touch with them as they go from strength to strength.”
