Joy for GCSE students at Salford City Academy

As a sign of the strength of the school, the students continued to improve compared to 2019. The improvement in academic results is a testament to students’ hard work and dedication.

Some of the academy’s standout individual successes, who achieved a swathe of the top 8 and 9 grades, include:

  • Lucy, who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 7. Lucy will be going to Pendleton College to study maths, biology and chemistry at A Level;
  • Thomas, who achieved seven grade 9s, one grade 8 and two grade 7s. Thomas will be going to Pendleton College to study maths, computer science, physics and further maths at A Level;
  • Ratnarajah, who achieved five grade 9s, two grade 8s and one grade 6. Ratnarajah will be going on to study biology, chemistry and maths at A Level;
  • Callum, who achieved five grade 9s, one grade 7 and three grade 6s. Callum will be going to Pendleton College to study chemistry, maths, physics and further maths at A Level;
  • Dorota, who achieved three grade 9s, three grade 8s and three grade 7s. Dorota will be going to The Manchester College to study engineering at T Level.

Speaking about their success, Lucy said:

I can’t believe it, I never thought I’d get such good results compared to my mocks, it’s just a massive improvement, and that was only a few months ago. I can’t believe I have done so well!”

Callum added:

I’m most pleased with my sciences and maths, which I got all 9s in”.
