Sixth Formers at Newstead Wood School in Orpington are celebrating today after achieving a raft of top A Level grades and securing places at some of the nation’s most prestigious universities.
Over half (57%) of entries were awarded A*-A grades and four out of five (84%) entries were awarded A*-B grades. These superb results have seen students once again gain places at the UK’s most competitive universities, including the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge which will welcome an impressive 12 students from the Year 13 cohort.
More widely, 138 students will be taking up places at top Russell Group institutions to study a host of high-quality and rigorous courses. 22 students will be going on to read Medicine, 15 will be studying Engineering and eight will be reading Law.
Testament to the breadth of students’ talents and determination across their suite of A Level subjects, 17 students secured three or four A*s, with 38% of Sixth Formers achieving three or more A* or A grades.
