United Learning appointed by DfE to build Sustainability Digital Support Hub

Catgeories : Group news

United Learning has been appointed by the Department for Education (DfE) to build and embed a Sustainability Digital Support Hub as a central service within the DfE’s suite of sustainability initiatives.

In doing so, United Learning will work in partnership with environmental experts Blue Marble and digital transformation company, TPX.

The new Hub will strive to inspire and empower educational institutions throughout England as they work to become more sustainable. It will offer accessible guidance and information to Sustainability Leads in educational institutions and their broader educational communities and will facilitate the creation and implementation of effective Climate Action Plans.

The Hub will enable educational settings to self-assess their sustainability confidence and expertise and will give them advice and guidance as they move forward.  It will include a self-assessment tool to gauge individual sustainability capability and will provide a quality-assured directory of suitable environmental sustainability courses.  It will also include a directory of quality-assured organisations that are well-placed to provide support in developing and delivering Climate Action Plans.

In delivering this project, United Learning will build on the successful work it has already undertaken in developing a sustainable approach for operating its own schools.
