Two Accrington Academy students have been recognised for the contribution they make to their local community. Ethan Naisbitt was awarded the Inspiration Award, whilst Aycia-Rose Draven received the Young Carer Award at the CHARM Awards.
The Charm Awards is an exciting new inter-schools event which celebrates the achievements of young people in Hyndburn. It is organised by Ynot Aspire and Carers Link Lancashire.
Having been nominated by their teachers at Accrington Academy, both Ethan and Aycia-Rose were invited to a special red carpet event at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre on Thursday 7th February.
Commenting on Ethan and Aycia-Rose’s awards, Accrington Academy Head Teacher James Kerfoot said:
“We are incredibly proud of Ethan and Aycia-Rose on their achievements. They are a real credit to themselves and the academy and we are delighted to count them as our students. As a school committed to providing an Education with Character, we seek to instill the values of compassion, aspiration and responsibility in our students.
