Students and staff at Morton Academy in Carlisle are celebrating today after the publication of this year’s GCSE results which saw students achieve some of the top 8 and 9 grades.
With this year marking a return to standardised assessments and grading, the academy’s results show strong progress for the school.
Some of the academy’s high achievers include:
- Asha McKenna, who achieved five grade 9s in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Geography and one grade 8 in English Literature;
- Niamh Scott, who achieved two grade 9s in Biology and Chemistry and two grade 8s in Maths and Physics;
- Daisy Clifford, who achieved two grade 9s in Science and Geography and three grade 8s in English Language, English Literature and Spanish.
- Toby Temple, who achieved one grade 9 in Physics and four grade 8s in Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and Maths.
Speaking about their success, Asha said:
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Morton Academy and am so delighted with my results. I am now going on to Sixth Form to study A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths.”
Daisy added:
“I am delighted with my results and really looking forward to taking up A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Geography.”
