Summer Celebrations for Year 11s at Accrington Academy

This summer, students and staff at Accrington Academy have once again been celebrating achievements at GCSE.

This Year 11 cohort reflected on not only their achievements during the course of their time at the school, but also the results of the hard work and time they put into preparing for their exams.
 
A number of students who were very pleased with the progress they had made and their outcomes included:
  • Faatimah Z, who achieved an impressive eight grade 9s, a Distinction* and one grade 6;
  • Zoya A, who achieved three grade 9s, four grade 8s and two grade 7s;
  • Louisa N, who achieved two grade 9s, two grade 8s, two grade 7s, two grade 6s and one grade 5;
  • Grace W, who achieved two grade 9s, three grade 8s, two grade 7s and two grade 6s;
  • Amelia O, who achieved two grade 9s, four grade 7s and one grade 6;
  • Lily I, who achieved one grade 9, four grade 8s, two grade 7s and one grade 6;
  • Lexia B, who achieved one grade 9, three grade 8s, three grade 7s, one grade 6 and one grade 5;
  • Umaymah K, who achieved one grade 8 and eight grade 7s;
  • Ivy Y, who achieved three grade 8s, two grade 7s and three grade 6s;
  • Ellie R, who achieved two grade 8s, four grade 7s, two grade 6s and a grade 5;
  • Olivia P, who achieved six grade 7s, two grade 6s and one grade 5.
Congratulating students on their efforts, Jamie Peel, Principal of Accrington Academy, said:
 
“I am very proud of our Year 11 leavers for the hard work and resilience they have shown whilst sitting their end of year exams, and indeed over a number of years. It has been a pleasure to see them grow as individuals during their time at the school and I would like to wish them all the best in their next steps.
 
“As we say goodbye to this group of Year 11s, I also want to take the opportunity to thank our wonderful staff team, who are dedicated to ensuring that each of our students can achieve well and gain the tools that they need to thrive as young people.”
