The report particularly highlights that “Well-being is right at the top of leaders’ priorities”, with trainees confident that “everyone, from subject and professional mentors to senior leaders, takes great care to support them”. United Teaching’s mentoring training programme is described as “rigorous”, resulting in trainees receiving “high-quality developmental feedback” which “has a positive impact on trainees’ practice and confidence”.
The course’s focus on subject expertise was also emphasised, as leaders work with United Learning subject advisers to ensure “trainees receive expert training based on up-to-date research”. Meanwhile, primary trainees benefit from a “carefully thought-out programme to develop their expertise in teaching early reading effectively”.
