CAST Students celebrate GCSE results

Catgeories : Group news GCSE results

Students and staff at the Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology (CAST) are once again celebrating after Year 11 students received their GCSE results today.

Individual successes can be seen throughout the year group, with notable achievements including:

  • Vasilisa Shampanova, who achieved five grade 9s, three grade 8s and a Distinction;
  • Zayaan Azam, who achieved four grade 9s, three grade 8s, one grade 7 and a Distinction;
  • Peter Alexandrof, who achieved five grade 9s and three grade 8s;
  • Julian Moynihan, who achieved five grade 9s, one grade 8 and two grade 7s.

One Year 11 student, Alexandra Florea, who is going on to study computer science, maths and further maths at A Level, said:

“I am really pleased with my results and delighted with my grade 9 in chemistry. I cannot thank the teachers enough for all of their support and help.”

Another student, Hensa Rai, added:

“I am so happy with my results and I am really looking forward to starting my A Levels in biology, chemistry and maths at CAST Sixth Form. This is an amazing school where students and staff work well together. The facilities are brilliant and as students we know that the staff here genuinely want us to achieve the very best we can.”

Today’s results build on last week’s A Level success at CAST which saw Sixth Formers secure places at a raft of the country’s top universities. One student, Michael Idiri – who also completed his GCSE’s at CAST – achieved an exceptional five A*’s and is set to study Physics at Imperial College London after a year of travels.

Danielle Pacey, Principal at the Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology (CAST), said:

“We are delighted that the school is again seeing such a great set of GCSE results from our fantastic students here at CAST. Despite everything they have had to cope with, students have made excellent progress with many examples of high achievement. The students who open their results today will go on to do great things and I would personally like to congratulate all of them on their achievements.

“I also want to thank our dedicated teams of staff – both teaching and support – for their unwavering dedication, hard work and commitment to our students, not forgetting the amazing support we receive from our parent community. Congratulations to everyone in Year 11 – we wish all our students the very best of luck as they take their next steps.”
