Students and staff at Ernest Bevin Academy are celebrating today after A Levels were awarded across the country today.
With some excellent individual performances, the majority of students now choosing to go on to university have successfully secured their place of choice. This includes many who are continuing the long-running trend of EBA students pursuing STEM subjects at university as they prepare for successful careers and futures.
This includes:
- Nicholas K, who has secured a place to study Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London;
- Karan S, who is also heading to Queen Mary University of London but to study Engineering;
- Zubair I, who will be joining the University of Leeds to study Mathematics;
- Kavishan T, who will be studying Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton;
- Deno K, who will be joining the University of Nottingham to study Mechanical Engineering;
- Shanthoos J, who will also be going on to study Mechanical Engineering but at the University of Birmingham.
The popularity of engineering programmes amongst this year’s graduating cohort has also continued with those on vocational pathways. Thanks to strong performances at BTEC, other students taking up university offers include:
- Ibrahim K and Sheyraryar A who are going on to study Mechanical Engineering at Brunel University of London and Kingston University London respectively;
- Ali S and Abdur R who are choosing to study Aerospace Engineering at Kingston University and City St George’s, University of London respectively.
Tracy Dohel, Principal of Ernest Bevin Academy, said:
“I am incredibly proud of our Sixth Formers who are celebrating today and incredibly impressed by range of top universities and degree courses they are now going on to access thanks to these results.
“Every student – whether studying our A Level or vocational courses – has achieved outcomes that support successful progression on the path they want to follow which is a testament to their resilience and hard work.
“They have been an excellent cohort of students and I know how much they appreciate their time here and the support they have received from staff and their families in achieving these grades.”
