Goresbrook School student off to cambridge with exceptional results

Daniel Eaton secures place at Cambridge having achieved 3 A*s and an A.

He is part of the first ever cohort to sit A Levels at the school

As Gorebrook School sees its Sixth Formers collect their first ever set of A Level results, one student has particular cause for celebration, having secured a place at the University of Cambridge.

Daniel Eaton achieved an impressive 3 A*s and an A and will be heading to Downing College, Cambridge, to read Natural Sciences.

Many of his peers are also looking forward to taking up places at their universities of choice, including at other prestigious Russell Group institutions, after their hard work led to strong A Level results.

Amongst those students celebrating today are:

  • Melissa Limani, who achieved an A* and two As, and will be going to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
  • Olaronke Bamiduro, who achieved two As and two Bs, and will be going to King’s College London.
  • Kelvinna Tuffour, who achieved an A and two Bs, and will be going to the University of York.

Commenting on her success, Melissa said:

“I’m very relieved and over the moon. I’m so thankful to the Goresbrook staff who made this happen and worked tirelessly – seeing my potential and making it a reality. I’m off to LSE to study Law and I’m so excited. The whole summer, I didn’t want to imagine myself there in case it didn’t happen – but now it has! Thank you all!”

Olaronke added:

“What a place! I found family, I found friendships, I found success. I’m so grateful to everyone for helping me get through. Thanks to the support and hard work of everyone at Goresbrook, I was able to achieve what I put my mind to. Thank you.”

Kelvina said:

“I’m very happy with my results and proud of my hard work and dedication to my studies. Attending Goresbrook Sixth Form has been a pleasure and I can’t wait for what is yet to come. Thank you to the teachers and members of staff who aided me in my studies as well as my friends and parents who encouraged me to reach where I am today.”

Megan Harris, Principal at Goresbrook School, said:

“We are so pleased to be receiving our first ever set of A Level results today and are proud of all our students for their hard work and dedication to their studies. We are utterly thrilled for Daniel – his fantastic grades have earned him a place at the University of Cambridge where I am sure he will continue to thrive.

“As well as this being the school’s first set of A Levels, it is also the first set of external exams this cohort of students have sat, due to the disruption of the pandemic. I am therefore especially proud of our students for the resilience they have shown. It is hugely exciting to see our young people prepare to take their next steps with their results under their belts, and I wish them all the best for their futures.”
