Newstead Wood School is delighted to have been named London State Secondary School of the Year 2025 in this year's Sunday Times Parent Power schools guide.
Congratulations to all members of the Newstead Wood School Community!
Mr Blount, Headteacher, said in his letter to the school community today:
“I am delighted to be writing to share with you the wonderful news that Newstead Wood School has been selected as State Secondary School of the Year in London 2025 in this year's Sunday Times Parent Power schools guide!
“I am sure that you will agree that this is an amazing achievement for the school, and one for which we should all quite rightly be proud.
“We have a wonderful community here at Newstead, and all of us have played a part in shaping Newstead to be the excellent school that it is today. Our culture, which embraces individuality and diversity, alongside character education, student leadership, public speaking, and achievements in both sports and the arts, works in harmony with academic success to empower all our students to reach their full potential. We open doors to their future and I’m delighted that this has been recognised in this award.
“I would like to thank you for your support, and to thank your children for the role they play every day at school to make Newstead such a special place. Our talented team of staff are tireless in their quest for success and I have passed on my thanks to them this morning when I announced the news. Our alumni have set a powerful precedent in shattering glass ceilings, a legacy that I am confident our current students will continue to uphold.”
