Mrs Glover, Principal, commented:

"In a remarkable display of dedication and commitment, the pupils of Surbiton High School have once again demonstrated their exceptional abilities by achieving outstanding results in their GCSE examinations. These remarkable achievements are not only a testament to their academic prowess but also to their unwavering commitment to enriching their education through active participation in the co-curricular life of the School.

With an impressive blend of academic excellence and a well-rounded co-curricular involvement, these pupils have set a shining example for their peers and the broader educational community. Their accomplishments are the result of hard work, determination and a balanced approach to education that embraces both intellectual growth and a holistic all-round education. What sets these pupils apart is their active participation in the co-curricular activities offered by the School. From sports and arts to debate and community service, they have invested time and effort in areas beyond the academic."

The School’s highest achievers include Sophie G who achieved 11 grade 9 results with five of those being in languages! A further 18 pupils achieved at least nine grade 9s. Our congratulations go to Holly A, Isabella B, Anna C, Zoe C, Izzy C, Aoife D, Hannah I, Olivia L, Magdalena M, Phoebe M, Aubade P, Emma P, Ava R, Amelia S, Isabelle S, Lily W and Roxanna Z.

Every pupil has a story to tell and many have committed huge amounts of time to their studies, while also juggling busy co-curricular lives:

  • Our rowers, Paloma C, Hannah J, Emma S and Siobhan S collected 24 grade 9s and 8s between them, while also rowing for GB!
  • Magdalena M already has two ABRSM Diplomas in Clarinet and Piano, each equivalent to first year undergraduate degree study, and has achieved 10 grade 9s. Sophia R has completed her first year on the Rare Instrument Scheme learning the organ and has combined this with her studies to achieve eight grade 9s, two grade 8s and one grade 7.
  • Committed thespians, Talia L and Emilia S, achieved 18 grade 9 to 7s between them and will have both played lead roles in two School Musicals, while Quinn O’M has been heavily involved in backstage leadership duties in our last School Musical and achieved eight grade 9s, two grade 8s and one grade 7.

We look forward to welcoming our pupils back into Sixth Form to commence their A-levels and are delighted to see the breadth of subjects and interests pupils will be exploring.
