Students Across the Group Unleash their Musical Talents as part of #UnitedinMusic

Designed to help schools re-engage young people in music following the disruption caused by the pandemic, the initiative has awarded each secondary academy across the Group a £500 grant to fund new music activities. Individual academies have been able to decide which activities they would like to deliver this term, with all focused on providing a memorable and high-quality musical experience for students alongside training for staff.

The full, two-day inspection was conducted at the beginning of February under Ofsted’s new, stricter framework which will ensure that only the very best schools in the country receive the highest grades. Schools are now only allowed to be judged ‘Outstanding’ in any category when they perform exceptionally across the school in this area.

Jo began her visit with a special learning walk around the College, led by two Year 10 students. The students proudly showed Jo the lessons taking place across the College, including Year 11 science, where students were hard at work preparing for next week’s mock exams, Year 10 English and Key Stage 3 maths, history and design and technology.
