Seven United Learning Senior leaders to address leading UK education technology conference

Seven of United Learning’s top team are at the prestigious BETT School Leader’s Summit taking place this week at the Excel Centre in London.

Senior Leaders from Surbiton High School, Southway Primary School and Caterham School are joining senior members of the national Group’s central technology team to chair and deliver sessions on a variety of topics ranging from the Computing Curriculum to the Power of Social Media from a Head’s perspective.

The team will also be demonstrating the success of the United Classroom pilot which it was announced last week is to be rolled out nationwide by the Group. In this pilot, pupils from two schools have shared joint lessons and learning despite being located in schools miles apart.

Speaking ahead of the Conference, Dominic Norrish, Group Director of Technology said:

‘BETT is increasingly important in the education sector as the talking shop for what’s important in technology. In United Learning, we believe that technology assists great education; it doesn’t define it. What we most appreciate about BETT is the opportunity to enjoy serious discussion with technology practitioners about how it can best be used in the classroom to the benefit of children.

‘I know that all of us are looking forward to sharing our experiences with fellow attendees. One of the privileges of being part of a Group that is at the forefront of education technology is to show colleagues across the sector what is working for us, in the hope of helping them implement something similar in their own schools.’

Those speaking at the Conference from United Learning are:

  • Dominic Norrish, Group Director of Technology
  • James Garnett, Group Deputy Director of Technology
  • Ann Haydon, Principal Surbiton High School
  • Jose Picardo, Assistant Principal, Surbiton High School
  • Alex Blackman, Southway Primary School
  • Dr Rob Bastin, Surbiton High School
  • Adam Webster, Caterham School
