Four exceptional Kettering Buccleuch Academy students secure place at Oxford and Cambridge

Two students set to study Medicine and Law at the University of Oxford and two students set to read Maths and Psychology at the University of Cambridge.

85% of entries achieved grades A*-C

Students and staff at Kettering Buccleuch Academy (KBA) are celebrating today after receiving their A Level results, with an extraordinary four students taking up places at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

With 85% of entries achieving A*-C, and over a quarter (26%) achieving the top grades A* - A, these are another strong set of results for the academy.

Amongst the school’s top performers celebrating today are:

  • Robert Taylor, who achieved three A*s and 1 A, and is going to the University of Cambridge to study Maths.
  • Cara Pearson, who achieved three A*s, and is going to the University of Cambridge to study Psychology.
  • Euan Warner, who achieved three A*s, and is going to the University of Oxford to study Medicine.
  • Sara Kapuscinska, who achieved two A*s and 1 A, and is going to the University of Oxford to study Law.
  • Lucy Willis, who achieved three A*s, and is going to the University of Nottingham to study Geography.
  • Sam Sawford, who achieved three A*s, and is going to the University of Warwick to study Politics.

Commenting on his success, Euan Warner said:

“I am feeling great and like the hard work has finally paid off. There were a lot of long hours and late nights, but it feels good now. I am excited for the next steps and ready to go onto the next chapter.”

Lucy Willis added:

“I am speechless with my 3A*s and all credit to the teachers as well who I would like to thank.”

Alongside these fantastic A Level results, the academy’s BTEC students have also achieved impressive success. Katie Gibson, who achieved two Distinction*s and one Distinction, will be going to the University of Northampton to study Midwifery. In addition, Sean Ideh, who achieved three Distinctions, will be going to Nottingham Trent University to study Business Management and Accounting and Finance.

“I’m incredibly proud of all our Sixth Formers for their A Level results and am excited for the next steps that await them. They have worked incredibly hard to achieve their grades and this has paid off in volumes. I would also like to thank the Sixth Form team at KBA for their endless support and guidance and for the outstanding teaching they provide to our students.”
