Over three quarters (77%) of pupils achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and maths whilst 62% of pupils achieved the higher Grade 5 or above in both subjects. Securing the very top grades, one fifth (20%) of students achieved a grade 7 or above in both subjects.

Among the academy’s standout individual successes – all of whom are returning to Northampton Academy’s Sixth Form in September – are: 

• Vraj who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8;
• Widad who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8;
• Ergi who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 7;
• Lucas who achieved seven grade 9s, one grade 8 and one Distinction*;
• Niki who achieved seven grade 9s, one grade 6 and one Distinction*.

Speaking of her success, Widad said:

“I’m really proud of all the effort I’ve put in, and seeing it pay off now feels incredibly fulfilling.”

Today’s results follow on from last week’s A Level success which saw pupils secure places at some of the country's most prestigious universities, including the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
