This year at Rowan Year, 3 and 4 have enjoyed a wonderful activity week around a central theme of ‘Inspirational Women’. We are so proud of all that the girls have achieved creating radio programmes around their favourite inspirational women, learning about female scientists, artists, musicians athletes and much more!
The girls dressed up as inspirational women and taught each other what they had done to make a difference. On that same day we had three special women: Liz Eversden, who is Justice of the Peace, Katherine Dienes-Williams, the Master of Choristers at Guildford Cathedral and Chemmy Alcott, British Olympian and Broadcaster, all joined us to talk about their careers and what inspired them. We even held a mock election where the girls had the opportunity to vote for one of four inspirational women they had been learning about during the week. You may be pleased to learn that Emmeline Pankhurst was our winner! The girls invited an inspirational woman from their own lives to join them for an afternoon tea. They shared their work, read a piece of writing to their guest about why they inspire them and had a sing song! –we are so pleased that the girls enjoyed the week so much, it was a truly inspirational week!
