Elizabeth
Primary Science Curriculum
Elizabeth has 25 years’ experience in education working in a wide variety of roles, including SEND, Head of Biology, teaching and learning and Head of Post 16. She is a senior assessor for a large examination board where she works on both UK and international examinations and specification development.
Within science education, Elizabeth has a particular interest in the identification of misconceptions within science and has contributed to work in this field. She was part of the team responsible for the ASE’s BEST STEPs work and co-authored a chapter for the ASE’s 3rd Edition of Teaching Secondary Biology. She has also revised biology material for BBC Bitesize.
She is currently a member of the Biology Curriculum Committee for the Royal Society of Biology – the purpose of which is to ensure that the biology curriculum is relevant at all stages of education.
Embedding and carefully sequencing sustainability into the curriculum is currently at the forefront of her work at United Learning and she has co-written an article for Impact Journal on this work.
