United Learning's Senior Leadership Programme (SLP) develops and accelerates talented leaders across the country. It is a free and bespoke modular course for aspiring or newly appointed senior leaders working within any phase or sector. It brings together leadership expertise, theory and practice that is immersed in educational context. All sessions are held online, led by United Learning’s expert leaders.

This programme is suitable for:

  • Middle leaders aspiring to senior leadership

  • Teachers and leaders from UK independent schools

What is the commitment?

You will complete the course over two terms (January – July) with live webinars delivered every 1-2 weeks during term time.

To complete the programme and receive a digital certificate, participants must watch all sessions either live or through the webinar recordings.

Programme Director (Primary)

Matthew Wynne - Regional Director of Primary Academies

Matthew joined United Learning in November 2016. In his previous roles Matthew has served as a Primary Headtecher for nearly ten years. Over this period of time he led schools that were in an Ofsted Category, ensuring a rapid and focused improvement in all areas.

Prior to his appointment as a Headteacher, Matthew worked as a Deputy Head, leading Assessment, Behaviour and Curriculum.

Matthew started teaching in 1993. All of his teaching and leadership experience have been within areas of social and economic challenge, ensuring his focus has always been upon improving life chances and educational progress for all groups of pupils.

The course was exceptionally well-designed and I greatly appreciated the valuable input provided by the facilitators. It highlighted the exemplary practices undertaken by United Learning in schools nationwide on a daily basis.

The programme has been amazing and something that I would recommend to all aspiring and new SLT members.
