Southway pupil raises money for buddy benches

Determined to make his school playground a more inviting and comfortable place for his fellow pupils, Southway Primary School pupil Nathan Tilley decided to raise money to buy more benches.  The Bognor Regis pupil hoped that the introduction of ‘buddy benches’ would give those pupils, who might feel lonely at break times, somewhere to sit and talk to others.

As Kettering Buccleuch Academy’s youngest pupils returned to school after the half term break on Monday, there was an added cause for celebration as their new Early Years outdoor area was officially opened.  Scott Edwards, Mayor of Kettering, cut the ribbon to officially open the new area which comprises an array of exciting play equipment including a sandpit and performance space.
