Worsbrough Bank End and Hunningley Primary Schools joined forces to take one of the top spots in a regional girls football tournament.
Held last week at Sheffield FC Stadium, the contest saw a team of nine, featuring players from both Bank End and Hunningley, take on other schools from across South Yorkshire.
Playing for the first time as a combined team, the Bank End/Hunningley squad made their mark, winning through to the semi-finals and eventually taking the bronze medal.
Making up the team were, from Worsbrough Bank End, Libbie, Liliah, Jasmine and Ryana and from Hunningley, Bryony, Layla, Georgia, Libby and Elliot.
Commented Nic Thorpe, Executive Headteacher at both Worsbrough Bank End and Hunningley:
“Considering the two schools hadn’t played as a single team before, it was great to see how they bonded so quickly, making friends and working so well together. A big ‘well done’ to all of them for bringing home the bronze!”
